Located in California’s Sacramento River hydrologic region, the Redding Area – Bowman Subbasin is 122,533.80 acres in size. This Very Low priority basin is home to an estimated 7,937 people (2010 value). It has approximately 1,819 wells, of which approximately 12 are public supply wells. Groundwater accounts for approximately 51 percent of the basin’s water supply.

2003: Bulletin 118 2003 Basin Description

2018: Basin priority dropped from Medium to Low. 

2019: Basin boundary modification. Per DWR: It “removes the shared boundary between Bowman and Rosewood subbasins and consolidates them into a single subbasin. The requesting agency is the exclusive Groundwater Sustainability Agency in both subbasins.”

2022: January 31 – GSP submitted to DWR
